About Me
Believe it or not, I started my career as a sports writer. I have journalism degrees from Boston University and New York University, but they’re currently collecting dust. When my position as Red Sox beat writer for an online media company was eliminated, I didn’t know what to do with myself. And when I got a “temporary” job as a dog walker, I had no idea what was about to unfold.
After a year as a dog handler, I got into training, and the rest was history. I’ve learned a lot in three years working as a full-time trainer, and I’ve developed a style of training that focuses on dogs from the inside out. Aggression, anxiety, and fear in dogs don’t necessarily come out of nowhere and often can be addressed when you find the source of the behavior. I believe we need to meet dogs where they’re at and train them from a place of understanding and compassion.
I started Red Daisy in the summer of 2022 because I wanted my clients to have full access to me and my time. I love working with all kinds of dogs, but I found the dogs I wanted to focus on required more than I could give them working in a facility. With an open schedule, I have the flexibility and brain power as a neurodivergent person to feel like I’m giving all of my clients my best self.
